Warren tennis team top player, Anissa Henry, captured 3rd place at the 8AAAA Conference Tennis Tournament Oct. 2 & 3 in Dumas. Anissa won her first round match in a tough 3 set battle against Alex Slater of Dumas 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Anissa dominated her quarterfinal match over #4 seed Brook Pambiachi of Monticello 6-0, 6-2. Next Anissa faced the #1 seed Jaden Thurmon of Crossett in the semi finals. It was a hard fought battle that went down to the wire with Anissa just missisng out as Thurmon hung on for the win 6-2, 3-6, 7-5. Not to be denied a trip to the state tournament Anissa regrouped and once again dominated her opponent Rayven Ward of Star City as she captured 3rd place 6-2, 6-3. "Anissa has just improved every week this season. She really earned this award," said Coach Sawyer. " I am very proud of the way she battled in this tournament." Anissa will play in the state tournament in Russellville Oct. 16 & 17.
