Lady Jacks Soccer On A Roll

The Ladyjack soccer team was back in action this last week with games against Hermitage and ESTEM. Both games saw the Ladyjacks come out with convincing wins as they remain undefeated to open up conference play.  The ladies started the week by routing Hermitage 9 to 0 in rather warm conditions in Hermitage.  Denisha Stallings led the Ladyjacks with a hat trick.  Hannah Richey and Isabel Densmore added two goals while senior captain Rosa Bautista and Xitlaly Gonzalez each added a goal as well.  Coach Quoss said, "The girls played well tonight and are ready to pursue another conference championship.  There are still many games left in the season, but I like the direction we are heading."

The Ladyjacks closed out the week with another conference match with ESTEM visiting the Ladyjacks Friday night in Warren.  In what turned out to be a scoreless first half, the girls came out and dominated ESTEM in the second half, scoring 5 goals to put the game out of reach.  Leading the scoring again was Denisha Stallings with two goals while Hannah Richey, Isabel Densmore, and Bethany Flowers each tallied one goal.  The Ladyjack defense played extremely well with standout performances by senior captain Abby Torres, junior Mackenzie Selby, and sophomore Anne Yepes.   To date, the Ladyjack defense has surrendered one goal in three conference games this year.  Coach Quoss added, "We were tested tonight by a very well coached and motivated ESTEM team.  Our girls rose to the challenge and we were able to wear them down and pull away in the second half.  Their character and ability to fight through adversity is what I most love about this team and I look forward to what the rest of the season has in store for us."

The Ladyjacks will be back in action Tuesday night when they go up against the Lady Ricebirds of Stuttgart at 5 pm in Warren.  Come out and cheer on the girls as they pursue another conference victory.
