Jacks Win on Senior Night Despite Lightning Delays

The Warren Lumberjack Baseball Team concluded their home games for the 2017 season with a special pre-game Senior Game ceremony.  The players and coaches honored and congratulated their senior teammates:  #3 Hayden Lassiter and #21 Nathan Hairston.

Hayden is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon Lassiter.  His is in his fourth year of the WHS Baseball team and has seen action in 20 games.  This season, as a shortstop and right-handed pitcher, he has a .517 batting average, with 5 doubles, 3 triples, and 2 homerums.  He has 23 runs batted in and is 11 for 11 in stolen bases.  On the mound, he has 10 innings pitched, allowing four earned runs with 10 strikeouts and 1 save.  After graduation, Hayden plans to attend Ouachita Baptist University where he has received an athletic scholarship to play football for the Tigers.  He was joined at the ceremony with his mother, Heidi Lassiter.
Nathan pitched against Hamburg on Senior Night.

Nathan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hairston.  He is in his third year as a member of the WHS Baseball Team.  He has seen action in 19 games.  As a corner infielder and right-handed pitcher, he has a .375 batting average with 1 double, 1 triple, and 7 runs batted in.  In 13.2 innings of work on the mound, he has allowed 6 earned runs with 5 strike outs and only 4 bases on balls.  Nathan plans to continue his education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he has been awarded a Leadership Scholarship.  He will pursue a degree in Pre-Pharmacy.  He was joined by his parents Robin and Roger Hairston.
