Jacks Drop A Tough One To Junction City

As cloudy skies hovered above on Thursday, March 9, 2017, the Warren Lumberjacks dropped a non-conference matchup vs. Junction City by the score of 9-6 at home in Warren.

Junior Luke Gorman got the start on the hill for the Orange and Black.  He pitched 3 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 6 hits and 5 runs, 2 of which were earned.

Sophomore Centerfielder Treylon Burks led the Lumberjacks at the plate, going 2 for 2.  Burks scored one run in the third inning on a passed ball.  He also walked twice.

Junior Leighton Curry went 1-2 at the plate and knocked in 1 RBI.  Sophomore Cade Reep and Junior Logan Smith also each had an RBI a piece.

Warren Sophomore Kendall Pope, who started the game at third base, came in and pitched 3 and 1/3 innings in relief.  He gave up 7 hits and 4 runs.  Only 2 were earned.

This loss brings the Lumberjacks record for the 2017 season so far to 0-4(0-0 in conference play).  They next face Shiloh Christian on Saturday in the Billy Bock Classic in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
