Lumberjacks to Show Support for Zack Towers

Zack Towers
According to Warren Athletic Director and Head Coach Bo Hembree, the Lumberjacks will show support for Zack Towers, a Star City senior football player who is currently hospitalized in the Arkansas Children's Hospital by wearing a blue number 16 on their helmets throughout the playoffs.  Towers collapsed during last Thursday night's football game between Star City and Crossett.  In addition to Warren, the Crossett Eagles will also be wearing the blue number 16 Friday night.

Zack is the son of Jim Towers and Christy Rasico.  He wears the number 16 and plays inside linebacker as well as tight end for the Bulldogs.

Organizers of this effort hope that other schools in the region will join with them to show support for this young man's recovery and for his family.  salineriverchronicle.com's Lumberjack Live commentators, Rob Reep and Ryan Moseley as well as our staff will wear number 16 stickers to show their support for him as well.

In the game against Warren this season, Zack was named player of the game.

We encourage our readers to post well-wishing comments and prayers for this young man in the comment section of this story.
